Bruncheon! feat S I N K, Sarah & Lara, and Key to Music

Saturday 13th May 2017
11.30am - 2.30pm, free entry

A cracking line-up for our May Bruncheon put together by Candythief and Bruncheon’s founding member Isi Lohss! This month’s event will run in conjunction with the Drill Hall Arts Café’s 10th birthday celebrations – 10 years, can you believe it! Come along for top-notch live music, an extra special birthday menu, bubbly, cake and the usual fishy (and other) delicacies!

Key To Music guitarists will be kicking things off with a rousing rendition of some excellent cheery songs. You haven’t experienced entertainment until you’ve seen a gang of small but perfectly formed guitarists perform an expert pop medley.

Sarah and Lara are singers and songwriters from Edinburgh and Spain whose arrangements combine silver-voiced tales of escaping brides with inventive jazz-inflected treatments of standards. Inspired by the sounds of Jenny Lewis, KT Tunstall, Bright eyes amongst others, their combination of southern European and Scottish sensibilities is one to watch.

Completing the line-up will be S I N K, who “pull visceral and extraordinary music out of thin air” and have wowed Bruncheon audiences before. Using the distinct voices of the accordion, violin and soprano saxophone, keeping improvisation at its core and rooted in diverse musical traditions, their sound blends spontaneous inspiration with crafted composition. Performing completely acoustically, be sure to be spellbound by this trio extraordinaire!
