An impressive musical line-up for our February Bruncheon put together by special guest programmer Diana de Cabarrus (Candythief, Stems), who will also be hitting the stage! Join us for top-notch live music, great food, and excellent company!
Stems is an Edinburgh contemporary folktronic ensemble (supergroup, if we’re honest…) featuring the diverse writing talents of Kirsten Adamson, Anne Aulmann and Diana de Cabarrus. Separately they’ve been tearing up the country and the new music radio stations with their respective originals bands, (Kirsten Adamson, Candythief and One Way Chemistry to name but some of them) ploughing all kinds of psych, country, post rock, indie, new wave and folky furrows. Now they’re joining forces to write and perform luscious three part harmony vocal material backed up by killer arrangements with stompin’ instrumentation that includes cello, guitar, bodhran, synth, mandolin, auto-harp. Kelly and Coe met in 2012 and have paid their dues up from pub gigs via first EPs, open stage performances and initial success building into sustained momentum and growing audiences at home and abroad for their rich, textured, timeless sound and engaging live performance. Tom Beaver
Tom Beaver is an up and coming songwriter and guitarist from Cupar, Fife, whose repertoire includes a mix of atypical covers and wry self penned songs. His unique take on common or uncommon themes from drinking misadventures to dog management reveals the innate strangeness in everyday life and makes for a rewarding listening experience! His performance at the Bruncheon will be as a duo with Lewis White.
His variety of musical influences include bands and artists such as Cracker, Sparklehorse, Camper Van Beethoven, J.J.Cale and Neil Young.
The cafe kitchen will accompany and complement the music with a delicious menu featuring kippers, morning rolls, mega-muffins and sweet treats galore!
