June 2013 News

30th May 2013

The OOTB Drill Hall feeds and supports individual and collective creativity across a huge range of activities. June’s programme offers many such opportunities to be immersed in a culture of great music, theatre, visual art, play and food.

Take One Action get the ball rolling with The Family Breakfast (1st), a feast of film, music, information and workshops on the theme of food.

OOTB are delighted to again play a part in the Leith Festival (8th-15th) with an array of activity. Bruncheon (8th) goes al fresco with an exciting line up including the Megaphone Choir plus tasty cafe snacks at the Gala Day on Leith Links (At the Drill Hall as usual should rain stop play). Active Inquiry are once again making theatre with and for the people of Leith with their production Taking Care of Business (13th, 14th & 15th). Stevenson College’s highly-regarded Photography Department are showcasing award winning work in Exposed13 (12th – 21st) which is also part of LeithLate13 (13th Drill Hall until 7.30 p.m), a multi-arts event giving a chance to walk the Walk and visit up to 17 participating venues.

If this interface of art and exercise gives you the urge for further action, play up and play the game at Wiff Waff Wednesday (26th). The Drill Hall will also be filled to the brim with people, art and treasures at the Arts Market (22nd) and Flea Market (29th). Both supported by ‘big hearted dishes’ (List Eating and Drinking Guide 2013/14) from the Drill Hall Arts Cafe.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
