Leith Moves is an Out of the Blue and Heritage Lottery Fund supported education project investigating the movement of people and goods in and out of Leith through the years. We are showcasing a magnificent film and exhibition from the investigative project, with a launch event on August 11th, 6pm – 8pm. All welcome.

Filmmaker Ray Bird has been documenting the project. His investigative filming style/ approach has enabled him to build on the work of the groups to further elaborate on many of the captivating stories of Leithers and their history.

Photography Exhibition

Gathering the stories of Leith today, photographer Craig Maclean, collaborated with local community group and business enabling them to create the ‘Slice of Leith’ exhibition of images which shared their stories of migration and how food has been a way to share their culture with the wider communities of Leith.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.
