LeithLate17: OOTB Leith Walk Open Studios & Travelling Gallery

Part of this year’s LeithLate opening night artcrawl taking place in venues in Leith from 6pm-9pm on Thursday 15th June.

A chance to meet the artists based at Out of the Blue Leith Walk Studios and get a behind-the-scenes peek into the work they do. Participating studios will be clearly signposted, and you will receive a warm welcome!

Also a chance to visit the Travelling Gallery which will be parked up outside Leith Walk Studios from 15th – 18th June. The EAT SLEEP WORK REPEAT exhibition features artists KP Brehmer, Tessa Lynch, Jamie Green and Amalia Pica.

What goes on behind closed doors? Everything! come join Leith Walk Studios residents as they help this classic 1930’s building (rumoured to have been designed by Ebenezer McRae, one of the city’s great architects) re-engage with the Leith community and the people it was made to support.

LeithLate17 is a multi-arts festival taking place up and down Leith Walk from 15th – 18th June.

Rona Innes Art: painter of wild, untamed creatures and places invites you to have a look inside her weird and wonderful studio.

Stevie Powers Photography: “I take photos!”, join him in his photography studio and he’ll take your photo if you let him.

Conrad Molleson: Art & Music. Conrad has being a regular staple in the Edinburgh traditional music scene, on the 15th he will engage in music and his music inspired art

Rhona Taylor Art: painter and installation artist, opens up her studio. www.rhonataylor.co.uk

Johnathan Elders: Futurist laser artist. This year Johnathan expands the work of www.thelasergarden.com. There will be a display of laser sculpture throughout the evening in the yard area. Then at dusk (10pm) there will be the first live performance from the laser garden project.

    We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

    Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.
