Arts Market Stall

Customers and stallholders chat at an Out of the Blue Arts Market, where framed pictures and postcards are on sale.

Welcome to the Out of the Blue Drill Hall Arts Market

We’ll be announcing the dates for our 2024 Christmas Arts Markets later in the year.

The Arts Market is a chance for artists and makers to sell their work and interact with both new and existing customers. The event is generally well-attended and the relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere is enhanced by the refreshments available from the Drill Hall Arts Café.

Information for stallholders

Each stall includes a table (6ft x 2.5ft) and most are available with hanging space at the back of the stall. Successful candidates will be charged £55 for table only stalls and £60 for a table and hanging space stalls. The hanging spaces consist of wooden panels behind the stall. The market opening times are 11am-5pm, with set-up from 9am.

The Arts Markets are promoted by Out of the Blue Riso posters and flyers as well as via social media and other external advertising

Out of the Blue uses a distribution company for the bulk of the publicity material but Stallholders are encouraged to put up a few posters, hand out flyers and send them to their contacts to help with the promotion. The publicity material will be made available for collection from the Drill Hall and stallholders will be notified when it’s ready for pick-up. The Arts Markets are also widely publicised online via event listings websites and social networks.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
