Thursday 1st August - 25th August 2013
10am - 5pm

Exhibition Launch – Thursday 1st August 6pm- 8pm

This exhibition features two bodies of work by Edinburgh photographer Robert Ormerod.

The Doomen explores “Doo flying”, a pass-time which has been practiced in Scotland since Victorian times.  Thousands, mainly in the housing schemes of Edinburgh and Glasgow, fly horseman thief pigeons, or “doos” from lofts, bedrooms, living rooms and sheds.

The other half of the exhibition features a series of portraits of young people involved in Scottish political parties.

Robert Ornerod completed a degree in journalism before pursuing photography. Robert is now an award winning photographer based in Edinburgh who is interested in story-telling and long form projects.

He has exhibited nationally in the UK with work published in the International Herald Tribune, Guardian Weekend, Sunday Times magazine, FT Weekend magazine and the Independent New Review.
