FIONA FORSYTH
ARTIST STATEMENT
I am a weaver, painter, and designer.
I was born in Edinburgh, trained in Aberdeen, and have worked
for the theatre, churches, and private clients since 1975.
I was the artistic director of the New Tapestry Workshop,
Brighton, from 1984 to 1992, and have tapestries hanging
in HMS Raleigh (Falklands War Memorial), Cornwall; Catholic
Advisory Service, London; Newark Parish Church, St Mary's
Cathedral, Aberdeen; and Corgarff Chapel, Strathdon.
Recent commissions include the Millennium murals of Scottish
saints in Saint Mary's Cathedral, Aberdeen, and the Millennium
stained-glass windows in Dunning Church, Perthshire, and
Saint Mary's church, Inverness.
In addition, I produce my own work and have exhibited in
Aberdeen, Brighton, Dublin, Edinburgh and the Borders.
