Big Names Make Festival Splash at OOTB
Out of the Blue had its busiest ever Edinburgh Festival this year with a galaxy of stars appearing at three venues and a festival.
At The Bongo Club, stand-up star Rob Newman topped a packed bill to huge critical acclaim, renowned Catalan director Jordi Milan's glamorous Nuts Coconuts played to full houses at The Out of the Blue Drill Hall while contemporary circus pioneers NoFitState enjoyed a successful run at temporary venue The Out of the Blue Tramworks. OOTB produced festival Edinburgh Mela was also hailed as the best ever such event in Scotland.
Newman' show sold out for 2 weeks solid with more than 12000 people in total seeing shows at The Bongo Club during the festival. The Edinburgh International Festival reported similar numbers for Nuts Coconuts while NoFitState also topped the 10,000 total audience mark as well as scooping two awards. The Edinburgh Mela was Scotland 's biggest ever attracting some 60,000 people over the two days.
