SHARON ROBERTSON
ARTIST STATEMENT
I have been working at Out of the Blue in for a year now, the fantastic skylines
over the Forth have inspired me to re start exploring my response to the environment
of memories. I have used a lot of old photos and objects from a well-known context.
Trying to recapture moments of light and emotion, exploring the memory evoked
from a place long forgotten. It's these moods that I piece together and translate
onto a woodland scene or some architectural detail. In my art I try to capture
our transience throughnature.
I work in bursts and starts but I am continually sorting, framing, organising
colours and shapes as I go about my day.
My still life paintings consist of a familiar collection of china that shows
or reminds me of
something different every time I use them.
I studied at both Duncan of Jordanstone and Winchester College of Art. I
have more recently got into video production and editing and have completed an
HND in TV and Operation Skills.
