Artcore Takeover at Central Library

Saturday 6 Feb 2016
12:30 - 4:30pm

It’s National Libraries Day on Saturday 6th February and the Central Library will definitely be a place for entertainment and excitement. The youth arts team #artcore are coming together once again for another bonanza of fun multi arts activities accompanied by some of Edinburgh’s finest new musical talent .

We hope to bring a wider arts scene to Edinburgh, and this unusual event will provide an opportunity to highlight some of the great work produced by young people as well as some great activities to get more people involved!

We will be offering a lovely feel to the space as we fill the mezzanine with:

  • Live music acts
  • DJ sets
  • Animation showcases
  • Comics & zines
  • Creative writing
  • Radio performance

We’ll also be offering lots of taster workshops to get a feel for what our Spring Programme has to offer!

On the Saturday afternoon of the Takeover, you will be able to speak to one of the artcore team if you’re interested in finding out a little bit more about our Spring programme, or even just get to know more about what we get up to!

So come along and join in the fun, and pop the 6th of February into your calendar. The event will kick off at 12:30pm and finish around 4:30pm – and don’t forget… it’s FREE!

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
