Print Jam

Saturday 7th April 2018
12pm - 5pm

Out of the Blueprint are launching Print Jam, a new monthly creative meetup for young people. With comic-making workshops, zine club, exhibitions, superhero life drawing and risograph demos, this is a celebration of all things print!

RISO DEMO, Blueprint Studio, 12.30pm and 2.30pm:

Curious about the riso print process? A free 20 minute demonstration of riso printing will be held.

As part of the print jam day, we’re also offering the chance to roll your sleeves up and print your own zine or comic – under 25’s get our normal 50% discount rate of print costs, whilst other zinesters get a special one-day-print-jam 10% off!

SUPERHERO LIFE DRAWING, Rehearsal Room, 12.30 – 1.30pm:

A free one hour life drawing class, featuring a real life superhero model! A chance for young artists to develop their life drawing skills.

For ages 10 – 16 years.

DIY ZINE CLUB, Front concrete, 1 – 4pm:

Do it yourselves! Choose between three tables, each with their own prompt for making a collective zine, introduce yourself and sit down and get stuck in…

COMIC COLLECTIVE, Cutting Room, 2 – 4pm

Keeping it unreal!

Gardener by day, illustrator by night, Lord ZOM will teach you how to unleash the inner raw drawing power that lies dormant in us all, in zine form. Come along for an odyssey of enlightenment into the mind and method of Lord ZOM.

LIFE DRAWING, Rehearsal Room, 2 – 3.30pm:

A one and a half hour life drawing class, with Topaz Pauls of ‘Reconfigure’. Each month will be themed and will feature nude models. Bring your own materials, or paper and pencils available to purchase on the day…

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
