Print Jam – Monthly creative meet-up for young people aged 10 – 25

Print Jam is a monthly celebration of all things print. On the first Saturday of each month, we invite young artists to meet up, make things and get printing. With workshops and activities throughout the day, we want to help you make zines, comics, illustration and art!

 

Flex your drawing muscles in our Superhero life drawing! We’ll be joined by a secret superhero who will be striking loads of exciting poses to develop your sketching skills. So far we’ve had Iron Man, Ichigo and Deadpool … who will it be this time?!
Rehearsal Room, 12.30 – 1.30pm

Brush up on your sketching skills! RECONFIGURE will be hosting Life Drawing, with artist Topaz Pauls on hand to offer expert advice if you need it. Featuring nude life models and loads of imaginative poses to inspire your artwork.
Rehearsal Room, 2.00 – 3.30pm. For ages 16+

​Comic artist Malcy Duff will return to host Comic Collective, with loads of mind-bending tips to make your drawings come to life. If you like doodling daydreams, inventing new characters or coming up with your own stories, this is the place for you. Come along and make your comics go from wow to WOW!!!

Drop in to the DIY zine club and have a go at making your own publication – with prompts and ideas if you need them or just space to get creative. Find out how easy it is to create your own zine!

Out of the Blueprint is a social enterprise set up to support young artists and provide affordable, eco-friendly risograph printing for the local community.

Print Jam is part of our year long programme of print activity for young people under 25 years old. Over the year of 2018, Out of the Blueprint is hosting residencies for young artists, co-ordinating exhibitions, and developing and delivering a programme of workshops, educational projects and monthly print events.  This year long programme of activity is supported by The National Lottery via Creative Scotland.

    Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

    We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

    Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.
