Book a Space

The Drill Hall has a range of different spaces to be booked, all fully accessible, and suitable for meetings, conferences and performing arts purposes.

Notice

We are currently taking bookings for all of our Drill Hall spaces for dates from 1st April 2021 onwards, pending further government updates, and welcome your enquiry using our book-a-space enquiry form.

If, in Out of the Blue’s assessment, government restrictions prohibit any bookings from going ahead, we will offer cancellations free of charge.

We have limited the capacity of all our spaces to conform to current Scottish Government guidelines and restrictions. Feel free to visit our Bookings Calendar to establish availability for your meeting or creative activity.

While we have implemented all Scottish Government guidance throughout our building – including additional hygiene and cleaning – it will be the Booker’s responsibility to conduct their booking responsibly.

SUITABILITY

Please note that, in general, NONE OF THE ROOMS IN THE OUT OF THE BLUE DRILL HALL ARE SUITABLE FOR CEILIDHS, WEDDING PARTIES ETC. This is because we are situated in a residential area, loud music would cause inconvenience to our neighbours and the building is not licensed to be open to the public after 11pm.

  • Covid-19 restrictions

Edinburgh is in COVID Protection Level 4 with current restrictions essentially returning us to a position similar to the lockdown of last March.

Our buildings will consequently be temporarily closed to the public until further notice, but we very much hope to see you again in the not too distant future.

    Stay safe and well.

  • Donate

Over the course of 2021 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
