The Truth Hurts: Comedy Against Racism with Aamer Rahman

Sunday 8th March 2015
7pm, £6 waged / £3 unwaged / £10 solidarity price.

Acclaimed Australian stand-up Aamer Rahman brings his show The Truth Hurts to Leith. Aamer has performed at the Sydney Opera House and was named as one of The Guardian’s top 10 comedy shows of 2014. He first achieved international success as half of comedy duo Fear of a Brown Planet, along with Nazeem Hussain. He now performs solo. His hard-hitting comedy throws a sharp light on racism and islamophobia. Political comedy at its best. This event is organised by Scotland Against Criminalising Communities and the Islamic Human Rights Commission, and is supported by Edinburgh Stop the War Coalition, Unite Against Fascism (Edinburgh) and the Kashmir Solidarity Movement (Scotland).

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
