Violetta Palak Jones is a fine artist based in Edinburgh, Scotland, working primarily in portraiture to explore contemporary societal issues and human dilemmas. Since 2016, she has been developing her practice at Out of The Blue studios, focusing on figurative painting that delves into themes of identity, industry, health, and social constructs.
Before dedicating herself fully to fine art, Violetta worked as a Director/Producer at Flyboy Creative, a Scottish film production company. From 2013 to 2016, her critically acclaimed short films were screened at numerous international festivals, an experience that continues to shape her narrative approach to visual art.
Violetta’s artistic development includes formal training at the Edinburgh Napier University accredited Atelier of Fine Arts (2019-2021), where she undertook rigorous studies in classical drawing and painting. She also completed courses in figurative painting and drawing at Leith School of Art (2016-2017) and received mentorship from acclaimed artist Trevor Jones, refining her technique and artistic vision.
Her practice has been further enriched by international residencies in Tequisquiapan, Mexico (2022-2024), and Leiden, Holland (2022-2023), where she engaged with diverse cultural landscapes, informing the emotional depth and complexity of her work. As a member of ARTHOUSE, an artist initiative, Violetta regularly collaborates with fellow artists and participates in group exhibitions globally.
Her portrait-based work has been shown in prominent group exhibitions at venues including HelMel Gallery (LA), Boomer Gallery (London), IHAM Gallery (Paris, Lisbon), The Crypt Gallery (NYC, LA), Saatchi Gallery (London), and others. Through her art, Violetta Palak Jones seeks to provoke reflection on personal and collective experiences, offering a painterly lens on the human condition.
