Out of the Blueprint artist-in-residence Kerry Simms presents her new exhibition THE SMALL PRINT. It focuses on the cultural and economic forces that shape our everyday life, using abstractions from circuit board imagery to act as a bird's-eye view of these systems. It's on until Friday 12th July.
Stunning photography exhibition, EXPOSED 25, our largest exhibition of the year at the Drill Hall, showcases the work from graduating Edinburgh College students (many of whom are multi-award winners in national and international photography competitions). EXPOSED 25 is on from Tuesday 3rd to Thursday 12th June.
Abbeymount Studios artists HelloArt will be running their first ever Pet-Inspired Market on Saturday 14th June, showcasing a variety of pet-inspired stalls, including handmade accessories, treats, toys, and animal-themed art by local creators.
Following the success of last year’s near sell-out performances of Made to Connect, the Active Inquiry Flashback Theatre Company are back at the Drill Hall with their latest production The Manuscript. Exploring belonging, stories and multiverse travel, this comedy runs from Thursday 19th to Saturday 21st June.
There will be summer bargains aplenty at our monthly Flea Market on Saturday 28th June. Come and browse over 45 stalls packed with pre-loved clothes, jewellery and collectibles. Who knows what treasure you might find!
Throughout June, the Drill Hall Arts Cafe will be serving delicious home-made breakfasts, snacks and meals. They’ve also added some new Drill Hall Cafe Preserves, which you can buy to take home with you.
Over at Abbeymount Studios, we’ll be hosting our annual Summer Open Studios Weekend on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June. It’s a great chance to come along and meet our resident artists and makers. Everything is hand made in the studios, with lots on offer from fashion and textiles to ceramics, photography and paintings.
