This August sees Out of the Blueprint celebrating their 10th anniversary with Print Expo 2525 at the Drill Hall from Friday 8th to Saturday 23rd August.
Celebrating a decade of work since Out of the Blueprint was established in 2015, the exhibition showcases work from recent residents Matilda Bull, Maddie Lennon, Kerry Simms, and Kamal Malhotra. Out of the Blueprint will also be diving into the archives to highlight work from 25 past residencies, presenting a snapshot of the last ten years.
To support the exhibition, there are also specially themed riso workshops, enabling you to make your own risograph prints. Also running alongside the exhibition will be a series of artist talks, and a pop-up market selling new specially commissioned riso publications and screenprinted t-shirts.
We’re also excited to be hosting, as part of Print Expo 2525, The Winston Smith Library of Victory and Truth. Five years in the making, this sculptural installation by Hans K Clausen is made up of 1,984 copies of George Orwell’s iconic novel 1984, donated and sourced from around the world.
If you weren’t able to see it back in June, the Active Inquiry Flashback Theatre Company are back at the Drill Hall from Thursday 31st July to Saturday 2nd August with comedy The Manuscript, exploring belonging, stories and multiverse travel. Don’t miss out on your last chance to catch it.
A must for bargain hunters, our monthly Flea Market on Saturday 30th August has over 45 stalls packed with pre-loved clothes, jewellery and collectibles.
The Drill Hall Arts Cafe team have been creating a new range of seasonal delicious Drill Hall Cafe Preserves, which you can buy to take home with you. Why not pop in to the cafe and try some?
