Active Inquiry presents Spect-Act

Saturday 21st May 2016
12-6pm (lunch included)

Spect-Act is a two-year project with the goal of developing a network of Theatre of the Oppressed companies in Edinburgh. The techniques of the Theatre of the Oppressed blur the lines between actor and audience and offer a space for dialogue and building knowledge.

Active Inquiry has been working with groups from The Bethany Trust, Shakti Women’s Aid and The Alma Project to create unique pieces of theatre exploring issues of relevance to the participants.

We have devised, rehearsed and shared work with each other and are now ready to share with the wider public and involve you in the debates and dialogues that we have started together.

Come and join us to see some unique pieces of Forum Theatre, join in with our Live Podcast and enjoy some delicious lunch from the Out of the Blue cafe. Most importantly, join us in the search for finding ways forward to challenge oppression and make the world a better place.

WHEN: Saturday 21st May 2016

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
