THE TOUR OF ALL TOURS

THE TOUR OF ALL TOURS
Monday 24th August – Friday 28th August 2015 – 7.30pm

Please Note: this performance begins at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall but will end in the centre of town

The tour is a guided tour of guided tours that occupies a slippery space somewhere between art, performance and tourism. You will hear about an eclectic range of tours offered in Edinburgh and elsewhere whilst also taking a tour that is off the wall, on the street and quite unique.

This walk through Edinburgh will leave more questions than it offers answers as it explores the political, cultural and personal subtexts of tourism. This is a guided tour for people who never take tours but are curious to know what they are like. It is also a genuine, albeit novel, review service for tourists, and finally, it is an engaged show about the city and how it is presented to both local and visitor. The Tour of All Tours is advanced tourism for those who want to do more than just relax and soak up dates on a guided tour.

‘Aitchison reforms the guided tour into an engaging and truly unique medium for art outside of the institution and in the public sphere.’ Time Out Beijing

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
