The Peace Cranes project culminates with Consequences. Art and Activism in the Nuclear Age
Through artist’s films, photography, sound art and poetry, the exhibition explores the humanitarian and environmental consequences posed by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, together with the nuclear power accidents at Chernobyl, Kyshtym and Fukushima, as well as the dropping and testing of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Kazakhstan and Marshall Islands.
Artists featured include Maxim Dondyak, Alla Georgieva, Peter Kennard, Elena Subach, Daria Svertilova, Edward Thompson, Su Grierson, Pam Skelton, Keiko Sato, Madelon Hooykaas, Mare Tralla.
Curated by Iliyana Nedkova and Heather Kiernan in conjunction with COP26 – UN’s Climate Summit and UN’s International Year of Peace and Trust, amongst others.
