Edinburgh Comic Art Fair

The Edinburgh Comic Art Fair returns to the Drill Hall this November.

Organised by BHP Comics and Out of the Blueprint, there’s going to be a packed comic and zine market with items from local and national creators, plus supporting workshops.

Workshops

Throughout the afternoon we are running a series of free workshops:

12noon – 12:45pm – Fly Off The Handle

Cartoon Comic Fun | Kids Workshop

Have fun discovering the comics language and creation of “The Fly” by Lewis Trondheim. Use his comic as inspiration to make your own comic strip and be inspired to let your imagination fly.

Ages 8 – 14. Free to attend. All materials supplied.

1pm – 1:45pm – Drawing Rhapsody

Music Meets Comedy | Demo & Talk

A live drawing performance featuring Tom Humberstone and Fran Morton – accompanied by a playlist of songs chosen by the artists. Followed by a Q&A.

All ages. Free to attend.

2:30pm – 3:30pm – Gocco Printing

Tees & Totes | Demo

Gocco is a specialist form of screen printing that is ecofriendly and easy to learn – come and learn how to screen print your own tote bags!

All ages. Free to attend.

Cafe

The fully licensed Drill Hall Cafe will be open throughout the selling teas, coffees and hot and cold snacks.

    Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

    We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

    Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

    We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
