Jo Bannon

ALBA

ALBA
Monday 24th August – Friday 28th August 2015 – 6pm

Alba is a performance about paleness, blending in and standing out. Influenced by the artist’s experience as a person with albinism, the performance takes its title from the Italian word Alba: meaning sublime light.

Creating a visual poem of imagery, story, light and sound Alba explores the stories we tell of ourselves and the stories told about us, the myths we inherit and the ones we embody, the identities we cannot shake off and so instead perform.

Jo Bannon is a Bristol (UK) based artist making live art and performance. She has presented work in the UK and Europe and is an In Between Time associate artist and founder member of Residence.

Commissioned and produced by In Between Time with Ovalhouse & Pink Fringe. Supported by Residence and Campo. Developed through Fuel’s Jerwood Residencies at Cove Park which are supported by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation. Funded by Arts Council England Photo Credit: Manuel Vason

Over the course of 2021 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
