Rosana Cade

Walking:Holding

20th – 22nd  August & 24 August.

1-3pm & 4-5.30pm each day.

One on one performance

“It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognise, accept and celebrate those differences.” Audre lorde

Walking:Holding is an interactive performance that leads you along a carefully designed route through the city in the hands of local strangers. It is a gentle meditation on intimacy, sexuality, difference and acceptance.

“Everyone acknowledged the astute provocation in Cade’s seemingly simple concept with its flesh-and-blood challenge to prejudices, its honouring of individuals and their differences.” Mary Brennan, The Herald

Part of Spill National Platform and Spill Showcase 2013.

Rosana Cade is an artist based in Glasgow whose solo work and research is routed in a queer discourse. She received the Athena Award via New Moves International for Walking:Holding in 2011, which has since been shown at various festivals and venues across the UK and Ireland.

Rosana is also co-founder of //BUZZCUT//, a collaboration between two artists in Glasgow dedicated to creating exciting new events for artists and audiences to experiment with live performance.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
