Carnival Bloco

4pm - 7pm, free entry

Organised by Edinburgh Festival Carnival, the pre-carnival bloco is a chance to warm up and get into the carnival spirit. If you want to get involved in this year’s Edinburgh Festival Carnival, the Bloco is an opportunity for you to try on a selection of costumes that you can then wear at the Carnival. Also, at the bloco you can meet some of the international performers, participate in Brazilian dance and drumming masterclasses, meet the event team and enjoy a pre-carnival performance.

Also a chance to be part of Edinburgh’s first Carnival Group, so not only will you be able to participate in the Edinburgh Carnival you can join the Festival 2018 Glasgow Carnival Procession on the 4th of August, organised for the opening of the European Athletics Championship.

    We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

    Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.
