April 2015 News

31st March 2015

To find out “who is going to slay the Jabberwock?” and the answer to many other puppetry questions, be sure to book tickets for the charming and enchanting Puppet Animation Festival performances and workshops at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall from 9th-17th April.

#artcore – Out of the Blue’s multi arts project developing a unique and vibrant youth arts scene in Edinburgh is well and truly under way with projects running with our 13 partners throughout the city. In April we also welcome four young apprentices to the #artcore team.

April sees the Gretna 100 Project workshops and rehearsals gearing up towards May performances and an exhibition to mark the centenary of the tragic rail crash which had such an impact on the Leith Community and which the OOTB Drill Hall is strongly associated with.

Other regular and inviting OOTB projects benefiting from the upcoming warmth of Spring include; Bruncheon (11th), with established and budding local musical talent matched by mouthwatering brunch delights from the OOTB Drill Hall cafe; Wiff Waff Wednesday (15th), our monthly ping pong night for all ages, flourishing with music, food, drink and conviviality; The Flea Market (28th) once again features stalls bursting at the seams with clothes, jewellery, furniture, music, books, bric-a-brac and much more.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
