April News

Friday 28th March 2024

With Spring just around the corner, April is shaping up to be a busy month at Out of the Blue.

Out of the Blueprint are running the second riso workshop of the year on Saturday 6th April at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall. It’s already fully booked but there are plenty more planned over the next couple of months. Just take a look at the website to find out more.

If you want to learn more about the art of Gocco printing, you might want to try a Goccomatic induction session. They’re run each Saturday at Out of the Blue Abbeymount Studios by Out of the Blueprint – great for artists who want to learn how to print their own t-shirts, tote bags and other garments.

At the Out of the Blue Drill Hall, there’s a great programme of classes and workshops including craft sessions run by both Remode Collective and The Precious Metals Workshop.

Our March Flea Market takes place this Saturday (30th March). With over 45 stalls packed with clothes, jewellery, books, antiques and other collectibles, it’s the perfect place to find some bargains. If you’re not able to make it, the April Flea Market is on Saturday 27th April.

As always, the Drill Hall Café will be open throughout April – relax and unwind after a class or event, or simply catch up with friends or family for lunch or a coffee. We serve locally sourced and seasonal produce, with wonderful baked goods, all made in-house!

Thank you once again for your support, in the meantime, take a look at what’s coming up.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
