Cycling UK Community Networking Event Edinburgh

Saturday 23rd September 2017
10am - 2pm

Cycling UK are hosting FREE Networking Events across Scotland for community cycling groups.

We would be delighted if you could join us on Saturday 23rd September from 10am – 2pm at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall Rehearsal Studio

Groups that are new to delivering a cycling project, organisations have that hosted Big Bike Revival events, Cycling UK affiliated groups or anyone that is interested in finding out more about local grassroot cycling projects are all welcome to attend.

Attendees can expect;

– A warm welcome and introduction from Cycling UK,
– Presentations from Big Bike Revival participants,
– Talks from local experienced bike recycling and training enterprises,
– Introductions to national cycling programmes,
As well as lots of opportunities to network and mingle over a free lunch.

There will also be an optional cycle ride (approx. 1hr) from 2pm to enjoy some of Edinburgh’s newer and older bike routes, and see some of the ongoing issues the city faces. Out of the Blue Drill Hall sits round the corner from freshly laid segregated cycle infrastructure on Leith Walk, part of a cash injection from City of Edinburgh Council to develop an ‘exemplary’ walking and cycle route in the area. Our ride will then go up through Edinburgh’s very popular northern old railway path routes, before passing by Haymarket (for anyone who wishes to catch the train) and back to OOTB Drill Hall.

Event tickets are issued on a first come, first serve basis available from Eventbrite.

    Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

    We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

    Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

    We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
