February 2020 News

Wednesday 29th January

Out of the Blue’s work focuses around four strategic strands; creative spaces, creative projects, creative education and creative enterprise. Over the years we have provided thousands of opportunities for people to participate in our ventures. We are now at another pivotal point in our development, initiating new spaces, projects and enterprises.

As a social enterprise, we generate the majority of our income through trading, including renting affordable spaces to artists, community groups and other organisations, and through the Bongo Club, the Out of the Blue Hall Drill Hall Cafe and the Out of the Blueprint studio, which are integral parts of our youth training and employment programme. Thousands of people have taken part in education projects and workshops, hundreds have had training with Out of the Blue and many people have gone on to employment in our enterprises.

Each project has its challenges which we overcome through the commitment of the many individuals, organisations and stakeholders who understand the value of working together for the common good, rather than personal gain. Thank you for your continued support to make it happen.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
