What’s On?

Pop-Up Market
Monday 14th – Saturday 25th August
10am-5pm, free entry

There really is something for everyone – whether it’s dinosaur bones, dragons & fairy boys, aliens and space adventures, political satire, trans manifestos, crochet, foraging & ecology, drag kings, goalies or eggs. Come and see the magic that happens wen you support artists to create the work that they want to make!

Featuring work by: Celeste John-Wood, Morvern Graham, Levi Richards, Alex Warner, Malak Ali, River O’Brien, Johanna Koen, Hanna Lehtinen, Namhara Byron Low, Louis Macdonald, Amy McPherson and Connor Parker.

Whether you take home a beautiful print to brighten up your wall or find a niche gift for a special friend, you’ll be a crucial part of the story – with all proceeds going to support the next generation of artists.

Evening Opening
Friday 18th August, 6pm – 9pm, free entry

We’re also having a special evening opening on Friday 18th August (6pm – 9pm). It’ll be an informal evening and a chance to meet the artists and makers involved and browse the stalls after hours. The fully licensed Drill Hall Cafe will be open throughout the evening, so enjoy a beer or glass of wine and check out our zines, t-shirts and comics.

Workshops for 16-24 year olds
Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th August

During Print Expo Out of the Blueprint will be running two special wild west themed workshops designed specifically for young artists aged 16-24.

Wild West Tote Workshop
Saturday 19th August; 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Screen printing tote workshop with a wild west theme. Choosing from a range of themed images and phrases you’ll cobble together your own unique design. You’ll learn how to screen-print every element yourself and walk away with your own one of a kind tote bag.

Wild West Riso Workshop
Sunday 20th August; 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Riso printing workshop with a wild west theme. Choosing from a range of themed images and phrases you’ll cobble together your own unique design. We’ll provide a selection of lettering and collage cut-outs for you to play with, and at the end of the day you’ll leave with a series of unique riso prints.

Tickets for these workshops use a Pay What You Can sliding scale inspired by our friends at Glasgow Zine Library. To book on to one of the workshops just head over to the Out of the Blueprint website.

Out of the Blueprint is a social enterprise in Leith. We reinvest the profits from our print service to support our core aim – to help young people. We do this through providing traineeships, residencies, exhibitions and educational projects, and supporting young people to pursue their own creative work.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
