Bruncheon featuring Toby Mottershead, Lewis Gibson & Ruth Marie Cumming

We’re excited to announce this month’s special guest Bruncheon host, the supremely talented Toby Mottershead who’ll be hitting the stage alongside some of Edinburgh’s finest musical talent. 

This month’s Bruncheon runs alongside the Out of the Blue Open Studios and Exposed 18 graduate show of Edinburgh College’s award winning photography department. Both events part of this years Leith Festival
Come along and enjoy a jam-packed day of live music, art, and delicious food at the Drill Hall cafe!  


Inspired by the old-time blues, roots, ragtime and gospel of the pre-war era. Toby Mottershead earned his spurs playing with the award winning eight piece band The Black Diamond Express. His solo show on The Roots of The Blues is a gem of The Edinburgh International Festival – showcasing his obsession with artists such as Blind Willie McTell, Robert Johnson, Mississippi Fred McDowell and many more.

    Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

    We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

    Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

    We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
