January 2019 News

Thursday 10th January 2019

Happy New Year from Out of the Blue who are 25 years old in 2019. Springing from nowhere (hence the name!) into a small gallery space in the centre of Edinburgh in 1994, Out of the Blue have since grown many arms and legs and now enliven and animate 5 buildings in Edinburgh including the legendary Out of the Blue Drill Hall in Leith and the iconic Bongo Club in the city centre. Since 1994 over 2 million people have come through our doors to work, create, exhibit, perform, eat, drink, dance, teach and learn.

Throughout 2019 we will celebrate and illuminate Out of the Blue’s impact with a series of special events and occasions.

Over the course of 2020 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
