Springing from nowhere in 1994, Out of the Blue has continued to grow through the years to provide affordable spaces, resources and opportunities for thousands of creative artists.
Out of the Blue now accommodate over 200 artists in studios, including designers, film makers, painters, photographers, ceramicists, jewellers, textile workers and printmakers. Our mission on coming into being was to find space in the city for creative expression. The Out of the Blue is 25 Exhibition in July showcases fine examples of our current artists’ imagination and achievement across all artforms, as an insight into the exciting artistic talent flourishing right here in Leith and beyond.
