March News

Friday 26th February 2021

Out of the Blue are obviously very keen to re-open our doors when safe to do so. We have been told by many people how much they are missing the conviviality of the Drill Hall Cafe, and attending classes, workshops, exhibitions, markets and events.

We will be doing all we can to support the local community, Out of the Blue studio artists and our team to get back to a hybrid of digital and physical opportunities to meet.

We aim to consolidate and develop the track record of Out of the Blue, which has consistently provided opportunities for the integration of people, art forms and spaces. Our future development will prioritise the initiation of significant partnership projects and the provision of cultural space in a safe and supportive environment. Out of the Blue’s priority is to continue to host and initiate projects in enhanced and adapted facilities.

We intend to reach a broad cross section of the community including those who are experiencing social isolation and/or barriers to access. We will use their input to address local needs; reduce social isolation; and increase access to arts and community activities, including opportunities for training, classes, employment, workshops, exhibitions and performance.

Watch this space!

Thank you for your support.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
