March News

Thursday 29th February 2024

March is shaping up to be a busy month at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall.

Several of our talented resident artists and makers are taking over the Main Hall for a Spring Pop Up Sale. From prints and greetings cards to jewellery and clothing, it’s a great chance to purchase unique products made right here in the Drill Hall. It’s on from Monday 11th to Friday 15th March.

Out of the Blueprint is running the first riso workshop of the year on Saturday 2nd March. It’s already sold out but there are plenty more planned over the next couple of months. Just take a look at the website to find out more.

If you haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, Out of the Blueprint artist-in-residence Lauren Cory’s free exhibition, Homestead, is running until Saturday 30th March.

If you’re looking to learn and practise your drawing, Drill Hall studio artist Felicity Inkpen still has some spaces available at her weekly Drawing in the Spring workshops on Monday evenings. The last one is on Monday 25th March.

Our ever-popular monthly Flea Market is back on Saturday 30th March. With over 45 stalls packed with clothes, jewellery, books, antiques and other collectibles, there’s something for everyone.

As always, the Drill Hall Cafe will be open throughout March, serving a great selection of teas, coffees, breakfasts, lunches and hot and cold snacks.

Thank you once again for your support, in the meantime, take a look at what’s coming up.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
