February News

Friday 26th January 2024

February sees the start of Out of the Blueprint artist-in-residence Lauren Cory’s new exhibition – Homestead. Framed with delicate pixel patterns reminiscent of early computer games, Lauren’s pastel landscapes blend the cosy, nostalgic comfort of home with the sense of something bigger on the horizon. It’s on from Saturday 10th February to Saturday 30th March.

If you’re looking to get crafty, Remode Collective and The Precious Metals Workshop have an exciting range of workshops coming up. And, resident Drill Hall studio artist Felicity Inkpen is running a series of weekly drawing workshops Drawing in the Spring from Monday 19th February to Monday 25th March.

Looking for some pre-loved bargains? Our monthly Flea Market is back on Saturday 24th February. With over 45 stalls packed with clothes, jewellery, books, antiques and other collectibles, there’s something for everyone.

As always, the Drill Hall Café will be open throughout February, serving a great selection of teas, coffees, breakfasts, lunches and snacks.

Thank you once again for your support. In the meantime, take a look at our programme to find out more about what’s coming up.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
