Out of the Blue welcome the increase in popular classesexhibitionseventsmarkets, and other participatory opportunities across our sites.

Over the past 5 years, Out of the Blueprint have been developing and refining a dynamic programme of workshops, residencies, exhibitions, publications and events. They are now running a Free Friday afternoon weekly Comic Club for children aged 10-13. All abilities are welcome and 12 places are available each week.

Since 2017 Out of the Blue Abbeymount Studios have also been developing as an important centre for artists who work in craft and design. As well as studios, workshops and classes, Abbeymount studios are now running a new monthly outdoor Makers Market on the first Saturday of each month. The market is held in the playground area at the back of Abbeymount Studios from 11am-5pm (free entry) and features original art and crafts created by our talented resident artists.

Out of the Blue continue to host the much acclaimed Out of the Blue Flea Market (last Saturday of every month) in the airy main space of the Out of the Blue Drill Hall. Once the bargain hunting is done, stop for lunch at the licensed Drill Hall cafe which offers a delicious range of home-style cooking, cakes and more.

We look forward to welcoming you to Out of the Blue.

Thank you for your support.

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
