December 2015 News

Friday 27th November 2015

Out of the Blue Drill Hall based film maker Ray Bird’s brilliant documentary film of our Gretna 100 social history project is now available on Out of the Blue’s Youtube channel. The film powerfully illustrates how a participatory arts project can have a long lasting impact for participants and audience alike.

We are looking forward to two legendary Out of the Blue Christmas Arts Markets (5th & 12th). Over the two dates, more than 100 artists and makers will be selling their unique work. On the 5th, the Arts Market is combined with Open Studios – an opportunity to meet the diverse range of professional artists and makers based at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall. On the 12th, the Arts Market includes live music from the hip kipper’s Christmas special Bruncheon. Both markets feature delicious and warming treats from the Out of the Blue Drill Hall Arts Cafe.

The next OOTB Flea Markets offer pre-Christmas opportunities for treasure hunting (28th November and 19th December). If you wish to have a break from the shopping, relax with music, food and ping pong at Wiff Waff Wednesday (9th)

Over the course of 2024 Out of the Blue will continue to offer opportunities for artists and members of the community to learn, participate and earn income.

We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
