Seeking Submissions From Comic Artists, aged 13-25

Deadline: Friday 1st April 2016

#artcore are looking for submissions from young artists and comic makers from Scotland and beyond, aged 13 – 25, for a new quarterly comic, “Opposable Thumbs”, which we are self publishing at our newly opened print studio, Out of the Blueprint. You can either submit an already finished project or create work, responding to the theme of the month. The second edition’s theme is “Odd”.

To participate in the second edition, please submit your artwork by the 1 of April. Artwork can be either one colour or two colour. The comic will be printed during April, with work also being exhibited for three weeks at Out of the Blue Drill Hall in Edinburgh. All selected participants will get invited to the launch and sent 10 comic books, which they can sell for 3 pounds.

Deadline: Friday 1st, April at 17:00
All contributors are asked to submit their own comics as well as a short description of themselves and their artwork and any weblinks.

Send us 1 – 4 pages of your comic via e-mail, either as a .pdf or .jpeg to:

    We use the space we have developed in 6 buildings in Edinburgh for studios, workshops, classes, projects, exhibitions, social enterprises, events, clubs, music making, markets, a cafe and more.

    Our all year round activity helps create the culture of the city, supporting the local economy and having positive social impact for the thousands of individuals and organisations we work with.

    We would humbly accept a financial donation, however small, in support of our work.
